Description

Hello,

We are running SOGo v5.12.4 as webmail for our clients and have identified a rendering issue with HTML emails generated by Microsoft Outlook/Word.

Problem:
Emails composed in Outlook/Word contain proprietary Microsoft CSS properties (mso-*, mso-line-height, mso-margin-top-alt, etc.) that SOGo's HTML viewer does not process.

This results in:

  • Excessive whitespace / broken layout in the message body
  • In some cases, the message body appears completely blank
Steps To Reproduce
  1. Receive an HTML email composed in Microsoft Outlook or Word
  2. Open it in SOGo webmail
  3. Compare rendering with Thunderbird
Additional Information
  • The same .eml file renders correctly in Thunderbird
  • Issue is reproducible across SOGo v5.11 and v5.12 (not a regression)
  • Other webmail clients (Gmail, Outlook Web) also show some degradation, but SOGo is the most affected

Dear SoGo Team,

I can confirm the problem wihich "ega" has reported. It is annoying but our users can live with it as we do not aware some information loss. And nobody know's what Microsoft will invent tomorrow.

However, we would be very grateful if this imperfection could be set in appropriate order with some errors, which could cause data loss (e.g. 0006143) or are very disruptive in our daily work (e.g. 0005992, 0006085, 0005992) could be eliminated before in SoGo v5.12.x as soon as possible. Therefore we would also "survive" ;-) if this issue will be solved in SoGo v6.x only.
