great that now a roadmap is available for SoGo and 0006013 is solved. I checked the roeadmap for upcoming 5.12 and was wondering about this ticket 0006023.
By whom of the community was this problem raised and to solve which problem?
@all readers: Do you need such a function and for what?

Our opinion: In a business environment there are (European) rules that mails have to be kept for 6 years at minimum and 10 years if related to financial matters (see https://commission.europa.eu/law/law-topic/data-protection/reform/rules-business-and-organisations/principles-gdpr/how-long-can-data-be-kept-and-it-necessary-update-it_en for more information).
And we are forced by law to follow this regulation.
So please make this function configurable in the admin configuration so that we can switch it off for all SoGo users for mails younger than X years.

The feature has been merged in this commit and in nightly build NB 20241121.

To use it, just use the Clean folder... contextual menu (3 vertical dots) on the folder / or the mailbox.
@bahnkonzept you can use SOGoDisableMailCleaning = NO; if you want to disable this.

Aside from complete changing the using option (Standard shall be disabling and only switching on on request) due to the legal concerns by law we would suggest that
''SOGoDisableMailCleaning = NO'' for disabling the mail cleaning option
is a better understandable way.

yes, we would suggest to have the feature disabled by default and only to be enabled by configuration switch in the whole installation. Reason for this are the legal concerns: The management is responsible for ensuring that all business correspondence is kept for at least 6 or 10 years and if an employee inadvertently deletes old correspondence, there may be problems.
