we tested SoGo for a while for possibly moving from M$ environment and this topic has arosen by our testers too.

So we would be very happy to see this solved in SoGo version 5.12, if possible.
We would propose one of the three options:

1) //Without GUI and preferences change//: When using the function Copy to AND coping to originating calendar open the edit window while copying and let the user changes all content. This would give the opportunity to change the date, content and participants (participants shall be copied too in this case! ), ... and e.g. reinvite for follow-up meeting.

2) //Without GUI but with preferences change//: Give the admin by central configuration or the user by GUI configuration the possibility to open the edit window while copying and give the opportunity to change the date, content and participants (participants shall be copied too in this case! ), ...

3) //With GUI change//: Simply put a new option Copy and edit to: between Copy to: and Move to:.

What does the other users and the SoGo team think about it?

nice to hear from our request after such a long time.
Yes we need this new fuction still after one year as this would improve the usability in great manner for us ant the whole community.
We would prefer options 1 → 3 → 2 whatever makes the smallest work for the SoGo team.
