| Summary | 0005519: Android phones don't show ActiveSync calendar+contacts | ||||
| Description | Hi, we deployed both a production server (currently 5.5.1) and a test server (5.6.0) using nginx proxies. ActiveSync to Android phones used to work fine in the past, but since we reinstalled the servers last week (same ansible as before), Android phones fail to display both calendar and contacts. The Exchange account is set up without any issue, I can see it sycing, but several calendar apps don't even show the new calendar, let alone any events. I tried with several phones. Sometimes the calendar shows up for some time (including events), but then disappears again. Outlook and Thunderbird (tbsync) sync fine using the same EAS. I enabled EAS debug level and compared the XML exchanged in both cases (TB and Android), and they look basically the same. No errors in the sogo log. It seems as if the sync itself is fine, but something in the communication or sync data causes Android to reject the data. How can we debug this further? thanks, | ||||

I just noticed that upon sync the contacts coming from Sogo pop up in the Android contacts app for a split second before everything vanishes again |

You can compare your configuration with the one proposed on the community wiki. |

our nginx settings are a direct copy of this wiki page, this doesn't seem to be the issue (especially since I have since converted the test server to use an Apache proxy and it shows exactly the same behavior). thanks anyway, happy to follow any lead... |

here's a video of the current EAS sync situation Sogo 5.6.0 -> Android contacts: https://people.phys.ethz.ch/~daduke/sogosync.mp4 |

we figured it out: we had configured a module constraint in sogo.conf in order to hide the mail module (we didn't want to have to support two webmail frondends..), and apparently disabling the mail module breaks EAS sync. With the mail module reactivated EAS works immediately. |
