Summary0005128: Support SMTP SASL AUTH
Description

Dear developers,

SOGo 5.0 adds SMTP TLS/SSL support, but still lack of SASL AUTH support, this makes SMTP TLS/SSL support not usable at all. For example, SOGo can not send email via the submission service (Postfix, port 587 with forced STARTTLS).

So please consider implementing SMTP SASL AUTH support in future release.

So, I have a local setup with the very same sogo configuration which works:

    SOGoSMTPServer = "smtp://127.0.0.1:587/?tls=YES&tlsVerifyMode=allowInsecureLocalhost";
    SOGoSMTPAuthenticationType = "PLAIN";

SASL is in fact supported by SOGo, even though it supports the PLAIN mechanism, only.

Consider setting ImapDebugEnabled = YES; (which also enables SMTP debugging). And paste a cleaned up log of failed login attempts.
