Description

Adding or changing an event via client (e.g. Thunderbird with SOGo Connector or TbSync), quotations marks are removed from text fields (title, location, description).

Steps To Reproduce
  • Use Thunderbird with SOGo Connector or TbSync
  • Add or change an event with quotations marks in some text field via client (e.g. via Thunderbird with SOGo Connector or TbSync)
    -> All quotation marks are removed

Tested versions:

  • SOGo 4.1
  • Thunderbird 68.2.2
  • Lightning 68.2.2
  • SOGo Connector 68.0.0
  • TbSync 2.7
Additional Information
  • Quotations marks are also removed when adding an event via "curl --request PUT ...", therefor it seems to be a problem with SOGo server and not a problem of the client (Thunderbird and its add-ons)
  • Quotations marks are not removed when entered via SOGo web client.
  • Same for tasks.
  • Only standard quotation marks (Unicode 0022, Shift + 2) are removed, other quotations marks as 0132 „ 0147 “ 0130 ‚ 0145 ‘ 0148 ” 0146 ’ 0171 « 0187 » 0139 ‹ 0155 › are not removed.

I added "Request.jpg", which shows the request made by Thunderbird – so the quotation marks are not removed on Thunderbird site.

The bug still exists with current SOGo version.

Could someone please confirm the bug in order to make sure that this is not a configuration issue?

What can I do to support a resolution of this bug in the near future?
