Summary | 0003824: V3 Web UI unusable slow with Internet Explorer 11
Description | When used with IE 11 the UI is incredibly slow. Switching folder results in the rotating disk beeing displayed without movement and several seconds of delay before the new view is presented. Switching to a Folder with one message in it takes about 1.5s with Firefox and about 6 seconds with IE 11. Same goes for every UI interation
Steps To Reproduce | Just access the UI with IE 11
Additional Information | Client: Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.18426 on Windows 7 (both german)

Is SOGoUIxDebugEnabled set to "YES" in sogo.conf? If so, remove it and let us know if it improves the performance in IE. |
Sorry for beeing late... flu caught me. SOGoUIxDebugEnabled is commented out - so if it isn't enabled by default then it's off. The logs don't seem to show anything particularly useful but the 'INBOX' Folder shows weird coloring. |

I was hoping that the issue resolves itself over time.. but with IE 11 (our corporate browser) the V3 is still unusable. Any news on that? |

I think they are a few tricks we could use in Angular Material (because the slowdown comes from it). Some of them are well documented here: https://github.com/angular/material/issues/8329 I'll discuss this with @francis in the next few days and we'll see if we can do things differently only for IE to help it. |
Animations and box shadows are now automatically disabled when using IE11. This is a first step in offering a better experience with IE. Disabling the animations will eventually also be a user setting, no matter the browser. |
I'd like to see these effects enabled/disabled on per uses basis.. is there any new about it? |
It's possible in the nightly builds. |
The problem still exists. |
Any news on this topic? I have this same issue. Currently SOGo is serving over 8000 users and more than 80% of them using IE11 on Windows 7 or Windows 10. |
