1) the first line in my previous comment is a wrong cut&paste;
2) can confirm that 2.1.1b is not affected;
3) here http://forums.contribs.org/index.php/topic,50693.0.html you can find another guy with the same problem

What IMAP server are you using?
Sniff the traffic using tcpflow in-between your SOGo and IMAP server when that happens and attach the log to this ticket:
% tcpflow -i lo -c tcp and port 143 > foo.log |
Uploaded tcp sniff and corresponding sogo.log
(Sogo session with one attemp to create file with a first and then a second attachment with error)

Your IMAP server must support the UIDPLUS extension (RFC 4315). |
Was this a standard requirement for prevoius versions of Sogo or did it rise when You introduced the Sogo-Sync support ?
On previous versions of Sogo and Sme 8.x I did not experience any problem.
In the mean time I'll inverstigate about standard Sme Dovecot settings.
Nicola |
I tried telnetting my server: it seem that UIDPLUS is not supported:
[root@fudge ~]# telnet localhost imap
Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
- OK imapfront ready. + stunnel
a1 LOGIN admin passwd
a1 OK Logged in.
a2 CAPABILITY
- CAPABILITY AUTH=LOGIN IMAP4rev1 SASL-IR SORT THREAD=REFERENCES MULTIAPPEND UNSELECT LITERAL+ IDLE CHILDREN NAMESPACE LOGIN-REFERRALS
a2 OK Capability completed.

The state of the art according to my investigations:
- Centos 5.9 & Sme 8 (32) use dovecot.i386 1.0.7-8.el5_9.1
- Centos 6.5 & Sme 9 (32 - Sme 9 is still in beta) use dovecot.i686 1:2.0.9-7.el6
Dovecot installed on Centos 6.5 has following capabilities: [CAPABILITY IMAP4rev1 LITERAL+ SASL-IR LOGIN-REFERRALS ID ENABLE IDLE SORT SORT=DISPLAY THREAD=REFERENCES THREAD=REFS MULTIAPPEND UNSELECT CHILDREN NAMESPACE UIDPLUS LIST-EXTENDED I18NLEVEL=1 CONDSTORE QRESYNC ESEARCH ESORT SEARCHRES WITHIN CONTEXT=SEARCH LIST-STATUS QUOTA]
Should we consider that SOGo wil not support Centos 5.9 and derived distributions due to the lack of dovecot 2.x features ? This would be worrying not only for Sme/SOGo users, considering that Centos 5 has an EOL set to March 31st, 2017 :-(
Let us know.

@avasquez: can You post the realease of dovecot of debian wheezy (i suppose debian 7.4) ?
Many thanks in advance.

I still get the error "Failed to change flags of IMAP4 message: Error in IMAP command UID: Invalid UID messageset" so it seem that this not due in any way to "boundary" condition but only to Imap/Dovecot version requirements.

Install a recent version of Dovecot. They are packages available here for RHEL5:
http://packages.atrpms.net/dist/el5/dovecot-2.1.x/ |
Will try it; then a definitive solution should be found in Sme 8.1 to have dovecot 2.x as standard.
Many thanks

This is a solution by Firewall Services (that installs Dovecot 2):

Hi Nicola, sorry for my delayed answer.
My user is "avazquez" (with z), you wrote to "avasquez".
In my installation I don't have dovecot, only postfix.
I will install the dovecot2 in my debian VM and write the results.
Thanks a lot.
