Description

Some users reported their mail signature is not attached to replies or on forwarding mail anymore. Also the setting to begin the reply above the cited mail is ignored and the caret starts below the cited text.

Not all mails are affected, but we could not identify any rule yet.

I think this is SOGo related because after creating a new thunderbird mail profile everything works fine as long as we cancel the SOGo-login dialog on startup. After entering the SOGo password (which is different from the mail password) things stop to work properly.

We're using Thunderbird 2.0.23 for Windows, Lightning (Inverse Edition) 0.9.6 and Sogo Integrator and Connector 0.96.

I may be able to provide some affected mails if needed.

Ok, it turned out that the Sogo plugin created new identities for each mail address the users ldap entry has. The new identities were created without mail signatures, so each time the users replied a mail to one of those additional mail addresses Thunderbird used the new identity without signature attachment.
Nobody noticed this since the new identities were of course quite similar to the original one.

So this issue can get closed.
