Summary0000978: Invitatation of attendees as Optional and Non Participant
Description

I would say this worked better in the past - but I'm not sure...

Here is case of accident:

  • user A create new event with invitation for users B and C
  • user B is set as "Optional Participant"
  • user C is set as "Non Participant"

=> event is written to calendars of all users
=> user B is written as "ROLE=OPT-PARTICIPANT" and user C as "ROLE=NON-PARTICIPANT" in the event ICS
=> I consider this for OK

  • but users B and C didn't know about their roles. It is not mentioned in the text of the their Event-mail messages and this information is inaccessible from SOGo Calendar modul or Lightning
  • that event is counted as "busy time" of both B and C users. It is hard to say for me what behavior would be fine, but I would say that in the case of "ROLE=NON-PARTICIPANT" and not accepted event is wrong to count it to "busy". I don't know about "ROLE=OPT-PARTICIPANT".
It needs to note I didn't read calendar RFCs...

For clarification - info about participant's role is displayed in his Event-mail message in the SOGo Mail module (not in the Thunderbird).
But when user delete this message and he has event written in his calendar only,
he knows nothing about his role (in both WebGUI and Lightning).
