Summary0003243: iPhone 4/HTC One, cannot send mail to all if multiple recipients are same domain
Description

O/S Info:

  1. Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS
  2. Zentyal Community Version 4.1
  3. SOGo ActiveSync 2.2.17a

Detail Description

  1. I setup iPhone 4(iOS 7.1.2) and HTC One(OS 5.0.2) with default Mail Client for MS Exchange Support
  2. Sent mails to individual recipient or recipients with different domain were working fine
  3. Sent mails to multiple recipients with same domain causing POSTFIX nrcpt always equals 1 by checking /var/log/mail.log
  4. However, by use of Webmail sending mails to multiple recipients with same domain were working GOOD and didn't have such problem..
Steps To Reproduce

Attached file are steps to reproduce the problem together with screen capture

STEPS:

  1. Create 4 users by Zentyal Community Version 4.1 via "Users and Computers"
  2. Use iPhone to connect SOGo ActiveSync
  3. Send an email to three recipients with same domain
    TO: mailtesti0@edubeta.com,
    mailtesti1@edubeta.com,
    mailtesti2@edubeta.com
    SUBJECT: ActiveSync Multiple Recipients...
    BODY: anything....
  4. Then send out the message
  5. Only recipient mailtesti2@edubeta.com can receive email, the others CANNOT..
  6. Check with /var/log/mail.log, POSTFIX/QMGR shows nrcpt=1
  7. Check with Webmail "sent" folder, three recipients are shown properly
  8. Check with iPhone "sent" folder, three recipients were mixed to form one

I surf the Internet had one similar problem reported and an author Ludovic Marcotte seemed to fix the problem on 17-SEP-2014

I don't know which version he had fixed.

I also tested with HTC One, it has the same problem as iPhone 4
