Summary0001513: add sogo-tool the ability to truncate calendar
Description

Some user have very large calendars.
But they don't need to keep all the informations they wrote since one or 2 years ago.
The volume of some calendars is very large ( between 5 and 9 Mo ) and the larger calendar seem to be a real source of problems for lightning.

The possibility to truncate calendar's user before a date limit could be interessant.

Not that easy.
Be aware that there are recurring events, which you should not delete, because they are active.

Since bug 0002538 is solved, this is possible by viewing all old appointments, selecting and deleting them. Might be considered solved.

As bug 0000069 is still open, you can not delete old repeating events.

And it would be more convenient for the user to specify a date up to which all previous events should be deleted.

Bug 0003141 appears to be similar to this request (although it looks to be on sogo-tool and not the web portal).

I thought I could get around these limitations by using export/import, but alas import does a union, no delete...

My ICS is pushing 3MB. Blindly skipping repeating events, even those with an end date in the past, would be a good start.

I wouldn't mind brute-forcing it, provided I could instruct SOGo not to send notification emails when an event is deleted. Don't feel like informing my meeting participants that their 2007 meeting was canceled. :)

FYI -- modifying an event of the past won't trigger notifications to the attendees.

We have the SOGoDAVCalendarStartTimeLimit which can be set to limit the timeframe for which events are returned. It is NOT honoured during ICS generation (and in fact, the name would be misleading anyway).
