Description

In both 10.7 and 10.8, I can't access Addressbooks other than the personal one.

there has been a workaround, where you just changed a URL in the Configuration.plist to the one for the addressbook you wanted to have. That doesn't work anymore.

Are you aware of any CardDAV server where Address Book.app (now Contacts.app) can access other address books?

I guess (and hate to say this), that this might be due to Apple decisions (which we have to live with), and not to a SOGo weakness (which could be changed). At least, I did not find this to work even for Darwin CalendarServer and iCloud, but would be happy if you would prove me wrong.

BTW: URL changing in Mountain Lion (MacOSX 10.8.2) still works if you want to subscribe to someone else's address book which has been shared with you.

Hmm... Didn't work for me. The config would always be reverted.

Anyway:
I really don't know any solutions other than SOGo, so I can't provide any further information there.
However, this is a real issue and we need to solve it somehow. There are people, that rely on multiple address books.

Maybe there is a way to get around it. Has anybody asked Apple for assistance?

"Asking" Apple for assistance is not easy; but mostly, there is no answer. As long as they do not provide any support for this, there is nothing SOGo can do. Sorry!

Apple Contacts application still not support multiple address books over CardDAV. We cannot do anything here - suspending the bug report.
